For the Filmmaker /Writer we will briefly cover the following.
- Registering your work. Copywrite law, WGA East and West.
- Option Agreements and what to look for.
- Line Production, Pitch packages
- Preparing your work for representation and/or production.
I will mostly be focusing on the BIGGER PICTURE. The how and why you need to know Show runners, Producers, Writers and Directors and how to familiarize yourself with them. These are the people that request you and or approve you when you are sent to the studio or network. Manager, Agents, and casting directors are skimming the surface of what you actually need to level up and get series or movie star status. It is the difference between Co Star & Guest Star/ Guest Star and Recurring vs Series Regular, Lead and Supporting in film as opposed to being featured. Building your network of the people who will approve you and SEE YOU for the talent you are and use you accordingly on their projects.
I don’t withhold information. I will also have some PDF/ Worksheets available to all students.
The last 2 weeks of class, students will prepare one set of sides from Television or Film. Students will choose their own sides.
The workshop will work on one set of Television/Film sides to be presented to a panel of Agent/Manager You will present to panel and come back in the room for a Q&A. The workshop is limited to 12 people. Vincent will then go over panel evaluation with you and assist in directing you to areas that my need to be worked on and/or how to capitalize on your strengths. YOU MUST ATTEND ALL SESSIONS UNLESS YOU ARE CONTRACTUALLY WORKING, in order to present to panel. Please submit a picture, resume and reels with WORKSHOP REQUEST in the subject line. info@vgpmanagement.com
